The Foundation

Mission Statement

The Mark Milsome Foundation is inspired by the achievements and character of our much-loved friend and colleague, Mark Milsome, who was killed while filming a car stunt in Ghana on 18 November 2017.

In view of the circumstances that surrounded Mark’s death, we are determined to educate and promote modern Health and Safety practice and to evolve in a way that best serves the scholars, the film and television industry and the memory of Mark Milsome. This includes supporting the requirement for a Production Safety Accreditation 1 (PSA1) for all those who work in the industry – which we encourage all entrants and professionals to complete

We are committed to driving lasting change across the screen industries through our three strong pillars: advocacy, impact & inclusion, and education, ensuring safer, more informed, and more accessible working environments for all.

We also support and inspire young people to pursue careers in film and television, reducing barriers through guidance, mentorship, while strengthening inclusion and safety standards through our programmes and partnerships.

The Foundation is run by a small, dedicated team of industry professionals and trustees committed to continuing Mark’s legacy through practical and meaningful change.

As a registered charity, we rely on donations and fundraising events throughout the year to deliver our work. These include industry events, talks, partnerships, and merchandise sales, all of which directly fund our initiatives. Your support therefore plays a vital role in helping us continue and grow this work.

We continue to evolve to best serve students, crew, productions, and the wider British film and television industry, in honour of Mark Milsome.

Thank you for your support — it truly makes this work possible.
