#HelpingTheNextGeneration
Supporting young people as they enter the film and TV industry is a core part of our mission.
It was a pleasure taking part in the inspiring and exciting Pinewood Futures Festival earlier this year, where we connected with many talented young people. We spoke about the importance of health and safety and offered guidance on education and career paths in the industry.

Helping young people start their careers in film and TV is at the heart of what we do.
We’re proud to support our trainees as they take their first steps into the industry - like our current trainee, Henry Piekarczyk, who recently gained valuable work experience with Sunbelt Rentals.
Hands-on experience is essential to learning the craft and getting that all-important foot on the ladder.

On the 28th of April, World Day for Safety and Health at Work reminded us of the importance of protecting those who work in high-risk industries.
At the Mark Milsome Foundation, we’re driven by the belief that no one should risk their life for their job.
Mark should have come home. So should others.
That’s why we created the ScreenSkills Level 2 Production Safety Passport course, ensuring that every crew member has the training and knowledge needed to stay safe when working in film and TV. Please do our course if you haven’t done so already. To find out more please click the link in bio. 🙏
We’ll continue to push for better training, stronger awareness, and a culture that prioritises safety every single day.

Helping young people start their careers in film and TV is a key part of our mission.
We’re proud to have helped our trainees complete a first aid course with Suzanne Stickley from First Aid Matters,
gaining essential, potentially life-saving skills for working on set.

Working dangerously long hours with no proper rest? It’s not just unfair - it’s unsafe.
We’re proud to support Broken Turnaround - a campaign we care deeply about at @markmilsomefoundation.
As part of the campaign, Prospect, in partnership with Bectu, is hosting a vital webinar with Karl Raw from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) on 23rd April at 7PM. He’ll explain how crew can report unsafe working conditions without fear of victimisation.
Panelists include:
Karl Raw (H.M. Inspector of Health and Safety, HSE)
Debbi Anderson (Bectu, Scripted Production Branch)
Rosanna Armenante (Bectu, Unscripted Branch)
Spencer MacDonald (Bectu National Secretary, London & Regional Production Divisions)
Got a question for the panel?
