Tia Agbro, took part in the first Kit Start programme, completing her work placement with Panavision earlier this year.

As someone who didn’t go to film school Tia felt that Kit Start was a great alternative. Not having to worry about the financial side of things gave her the freedom to learn and develop her skills, gain hands-on experience with industry-standard kit, and build relationships within the industry without barriers.

During her placement, Tia gained invaluable experience across different departments at Panavision and connected with individuals that she would have otherwise not have had the chance to meet.

Tia says about her experience:
“Kit Start has been an amazing opportunity; the work experience at Panavision, paired with on-set traineeships, has helped me grow and solidify my knowledge, allowing me to work more efficiently on set.”

Since completing Kit Start, Tia has been focused on gaining as much industry experience as possible, starting with a runner role in a Channel 4 writer’s room. She has also continued building her on-set and camera experience, including working as a camera trainee on a short film with Our House Pictures in September, among other industry projects.

Today marks International Stress Awareness Day.

The Foundation is proud to be part of HSE’s Working Minds campaign to help raise awareness about how employers can learn to recognise and respond to the signs of stress at work.

Over half of working days are lost due to work-related stress, depression or anxiety. As an employer there are positive steps you can take to support good mental health in the workplace.

✨Introducing the 2026 Calendar, created in collaboration by Andra Milsome and Mark Purvis and curated by cinematographer Fabian Wabner FW ASC BSC.

Entitled Perspectives of Space, the calendar showcases a collection of stunning images captured by camera crew members, exploring not only architecture but also the themes of space, community, form, function, and wellbeing. Profits from the sale of the calendars will directly benefit the Mark Milsome Foundation.

We are thrilled that our very first contributor to this project, Seamus McGarvey, ASC, BSC - Director of Photography, has created our cover image. Titled Trellick Trellicht 2025, it is a self-portrait set against the glorious backdrop of his homestead.
